The Next Step Matters

A penguin walks with nothing but their footprints left behind and comes to the edge of a cliff. The text reads, "You can't change where you've been. But you can change where you are heading."-Original artwork by Lee Sampson.

You can’t change where you’ve been. But you can change where you are heading.

Balancing out where we have been and where we want to go involves getting to know both, acknowledging what we’ve learned and what we still need to learn.

It is worth highlighting we don’t expect children to teach themselves what they haven’t learned yet such as reading and writing, so why do we expect more from ourselves and maybe others?

Seeking guidance and sharing our knowledge gives everyone an opportunity to get closer to where we want to be.

My penguin cartoons illustrate leadership, learning, and development with a smile while offering a daily dose of fun and thoughtful reflection.

These insights come from twenty years of leadership experience and I enjoy this unique way to encourage us to think about how we can do leadership differently.

I use the Corel Draw Suite to draw my cartoons and you can learn more about me on my LinkedIn profile Lee Sampson.
